...monday again...

...and so another week begins.

it's amazing how time moves quicker the older you become. i mean, it's almost thanksgiving!! i'm starting to freak out (just a little) over the holidays approaching so fast. my finances have been better, but the looming holidays bring that clinch in my stomach as i begin to save cash to afford the nice things i'd like to give to my friends and family. thankfully i've taken care of a few gifts over the summer/fall and have them waiting to wrap in the closet. i need to do that more often and spread the cost out over the entire year.

---------------------------------

went for another long run yesterday...1 full hour running in queeny park. this park is by no means flat...and i had made the mistake of eating some halloween candy before we went. so here i am, only 1 mile into the run and hurtin'...hurtin' bad. i whine and blogsultant does the right thing and tells me to keep going. i hit mile 2 feeling better and began to speed up...mile 3 brought on the major hills on the back side of the park. oy! it was a challenge, but i pressed on to finish that section and keep going. miles 4 and 5 were pretty consistent. by the amount of time i ran, i think i finished a little more than 5 miles. good progress for the weekend.

---------------------------------

shopgirl opened this weekend. blogsultant and i wanted to make it since we had both read the book, but couldn't make it due to our busy schedules this weekend. if you haven't read the book (authored by steve martin), i would encourage you to do so -- it's very short and quirky! i'm looking forward to seeing it brought to life by the movie.

---------------------------------

ski patrol this weekend was interesting...i got to play victim for some of the returning patrollers. on sunday we practiced chair lift evacuations. i never knew the lengths that it took to get people off the lift in case of a breakdown. rest assured, it's very safe but requires patience and being calm.

my exam is next weekend for ski patrol...i don't think it's going to be a big problem to pass. the class was designed for us to pass, not fail. hopefully i can remember all the details for the written work and put them into practice on the practical work.

---------------------------------

tonight i have a cake to bake and a meeting to attend. another busy night. i'm ready for a night when i come home from work to do nothing. of course, that will never happen since there is always a dirty apartment to clean, or a friend to visit, etc. i love to be busy...i hate being bored. guess it's a good thing God gave me a lot of energy.

cheers to all...have a great week!
