Billy Gene "Bill" -- June 7, 1931 - February 1, 2008

Missing you very much, Grandpa...

Obituary placed in the Palm Beach Post:

BILLY GENE 'Bill' was born June 7, 1931 in Southern Illinois and passed from this life on February 1, 2008 in West Palm Beach. His life was one of service to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For some 25 years he served Christian Church congregations in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio as an ordained minister of the gospel. While serving in Southern Illinois he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree on June 10, 1967 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. For some 15 years after leaving the full-time pulpit he served as a licensed nursing home administrator in Ohio and Florida. His last administrator position was at Jupiter Medical Pavilion in Jupiter. After retiring from full-time employment, Bill continued to serve in a pulpit supply role in several South Florida congregations. He was an active member of Community Christian Church at the time of his death. He volunteered with teaching Life Skills for Good News Jail and Prison ministries. Bill was a Korean Conflict veteran of the Naval Air Corps. Bill is survived by his wife, Maraleita; three sons, Glenn, David and Larry; his first wife, Peggy; two grandchildren; five stepchildren, Rod, Tod, Brent, Brenna, Lindsey and Roxanne, and 11 stepgrandchildren, and two great-stepgrandchildren.
