...grit

...after a 10 day hiatus from running, due to my adept skillz at cutting my stupid finger, i returned today to the gym to get a base run in and remind my muscles what they're supposed to be doing. my plans to do a base run quickly changed as i decided i needed to push myself. so, i opted for a 6 mile speed workout and away i went:

warm-up: 1 mile
3 x 1600 meters: speed with 800 meter jogs
cool down: 1 mile

amazingly, i did it all and felt great at the end. i really had the desire to push a little more, but held back as i have a substantial long run this weekend that i need to rest for.

yay me!
