(...or for you english speaking folk: ...in the winter, snow is on the ground)
it's december first and the city of saint louis is treated to winter's grandest show -- a blanket of white spread over the world.
i love getting up in the morning and looking at the snow. it's something that cannot be equaled by any other weather phenomena. the sense of peace and calm that reached me as i awoke today is unmeasurable. i truly love the snow.
i sit here at home this morning with my robe on, sipping my hot tea with my cat in my lap enjoying a few moments of relaxation before i attempt to drive into work. it's not very often that i achieve this time of calm in the morning -- i'm ususally too busy snoozing my alarm. for some reason, the snow prompted me to get up and enjoy the morning. i think it has something to do with the excuse that snow gives us. no one is going to question a late arrival to work today given the conditions. i am free to take it slow and easy.
for any of the rest of you that woke up to the aftermath of the winter storm -- enjoy the beauty -- take your time and be safe out there.

We got our first snow today here in Louisville...nothing major, but enough to make the morning commute more interesting. :)
