...the chronicles of kitty -- part I

…well, encouraged by rosie’s comment that she was excited to read “chronicles of kitty”…here is installation #1:

…i met lucy in july of 2002. i had moved into my apartment in st. louis and was ready to take the plunge with owning a cat. my friend from college knew this and invited me to meet a kitten that her aunt had recently taken in. the kitten was a stray and my friend’s aunt was happy to be rid of her.

…lucy is an all blue cat. for those of you that aren’t familiar, blue is a color of cat that is a rich dark grey. in lucy’s case, she has the blue coloring, but also has silver tipped fur. she looks very similar to a korat breed.

…lucy’s name was that given to her by my friend’s family; actually, they had named her “lucifer” for all the trouble she got into – i decided that i liked the name “lucy” and kept the shortened form of her given name.

…baby lucy got into everything. she crawled into any small space she could find. one of my favorite pictures that i have of her is when she smushed herself into a 12-pk 7-up carton. lucy and i lived happily for close to a year before i decided she needed a playmate. little did she know it was going to be a big brother…
