...time has a way of catching up...

this post is an effort to "catch up" with my readers on what has happened since my last post...i've been a bad blog slacker, but i'm back in business again. hopefully i'll find motivation to keep posting more often!

things that have happened since october 19th...

1. trip to cedar point -- blogsultant and i packed up our things and flew to ohio for 2 days of roller coaster riding. the big daddy coaster was down for repairs all weekend which was very sad, but we did get a front seat ride on millenium force -- one of the best coasters ever! halloweekends there is quite the ordeal -- i think there are more people there for that than during peak season in the summer. it was crazy!

2. cardinals sucked it up -- cardinal nation was dealt a horrible blow by losing to the 'stros in 6 games. the bats were silent and so went the cardinals. justice was served; however, when the 'stros lost 4 straight to chicago to lose the world series. what a sad year for the NL.

3. down to 155! -- i've lost over 25 pounds and am now cruising at the same weight while i train for my 10K run. november 13th is the date, so mark your calendars! should be a good run -- i'm feeling great in training and ready to go the distance. all of this is a precursor for april 9th -- the st. louis 1/2 marathon. i'm gonna be there and finish by hook or by crook.

4. new 5K PR -- last weekend i ran a time trial 5K to see what level i was running, pace-wise. my last 5K race (in may) timed at 32:24 (~10:30 mile). saturday i cruised in the finish line at 29:15 (~9:30 mile). to say i was excited was an understatement. the best part was that i was feeling good the whole time and still capable of running more. the 10K is looking less scary...

5. halloween party -- blogsultant and i dressed as mulder and scully and hosted ~15 people for dinner and socializing saturday night in honor of halloween. we had a lot of fun although the tenor of the get together was very subdued. everyone was a bit on the sleepy side and the party never really took off. we did however have a good time talking about politics and the economy...man, i'm getting old...

that's the account for now...Heute abend habe ich meine Deutchklasse...so, i need to study.
