for the first time since i ceased my marathon training, this afternoon i felt the inner runner scream to be let loose...
...i had just droped steve off at the airport (unusual for a sunday) and the temperature in st. louis had dropped over 20 degrees since the morning -- from 60 degrees to the upper 30's. for some ridiculous reason, i was overwhelmed with a desire to get outside and be that crazy person running in bad weather.
so what was a girl to do? i got home, donned a pair of running tights, shorts, 2 long sleeved polypro shirts, my trusty asics, an under armour hat, a pair of stretchy gloves, and my ipod, and flew out the door for a satisfying 2.5 mile run.
was it cold? oh yeah. but i was sweating within 10 minutes of starting and thought it was 85 degrees by the time i was finished. a good feeling? you better believe it.
my inner runner bust through and she's pumped for the new 1/2 marathon season getting ready to start in a month. april 2008 -- i'm going for sub 2 hours!
